With panoramic hill country and Lake Austin views, beautiful homes and great schools, its hard not to fall in love with Glenlake.
Where is Glenlake?
Glenlake is located next to the well known River Place development. It can be accessed off City Park Road, which hits 2222. Though you’ll get the country feel when you are in Glenlake, you are still only 15 miles from Downtown, so you could easily live in Glenlake and commute. The easiest freeway access would be from 2222 to MoPac or 360. Luckily, you’ll avoid the busy 620/2222 intersection, which will shave a tremendous amount of time off your commute.
Things to Do in Glenlake
Participate in the Homeowner’s Association. Though membership is voluntary, your $100 yearly fee will more than pay for itself. The association is very active and plans several kid and family friendly activities throughout the year, like the Halloween Hayride. When you’re looking to have a relaxing meal, head over to the funky Ski Shores Cafe on Lake Austin where you can sit on their patio and watch the skiers and boaters. Another fun place to go is Emma Long Park which has BBQ pits, a basketball court, fishing pier, picnic tables, 12 miles of trails, volleyball courts and an area that can be reserved for events.
